A newly married girl dies under mysterious circumstances in Puraini (Social media)
Bihar News: On Monday evening, the death of a newly married woman under suspicious circumstances in ward number four of Durgapur Panchayat under Puraini police station area of Madhepura district created a sensation in the entire area. The deceased has been identified as Manisha Kumari (26), who was the wife of Mukesh Mandal. Manisha was married only ten months ago and was living alone in her in-laws' house because her husband works as a laborer in Punjab.
Manisha's body was found lying on the bed, and there were deep marks on her neck, due to which it is suspected that this may not be a case of suicide but murder by strangulation. On receiving information from the villagers, the police reached the spot, and the body has been sent to Madhepura for a post-mortem.
On receiving the information of the incident, the deceased's father, Mantu Mandal, mother, and brother, Pappu Mandal, reached Durgapur. But on reaching there, they were shocked because Manisha's gotni (sister-in-law) and other members of her family had fled from the spot. The family members say that Manisha's cousin's daughter called them and told them that Manisha had committed suicide by hanging herself. But when they reached the spot, there was no noose and no such sign that could prove suicide. Manisha was found dead on the bed.
According to the information, this was Manisha's second marriage. Her first marriage took place in Badgaon of the Alamnagar police station area, from which she also has a daughter. This was the third marriage of Mukesh Mandal. According to the local villagers, his first two wives had left him due to family discord and got married elsewhere.
Manisha's mother alleges that Mukesh had married without the consent of his family, and his sister-in-law was unhappy with this marriage. Since the incident, Manisha's gotni, her daughter, and other family members are missing, which has deepened the suspicion.
SHO Raghav Sharan said, "The body has been sent for postmortem, and the report is awaited. Only after the postmortem will it be clear whether it was murder or suicide. At present, we are waiting for the application from the family of the deceased, after which legal action will be taken."
This heartbreaking incident has shaken the entire area. Questions are being raised—was Manisha tortured at her in-laws' house? Was this a planned murder or a real suicide? The answers currently depend on the post-mortem report and the police investigation.
